Walthers Trains

Walthers Trains was founded in Milwaukee in 1932 by Bill Walthers, whose passion for trains started when he was seven. Milwaukee was popular for railroading and technology, so Bill switched to electric trains over time. WWII made it difficult to find materials for the trains, and the post-war era brought new technology that pulled Americans’ attention away from them. Regardless, the company, under Bill’s grandson, Phil, started producing many new products. The company has been handed down through the Walthers family for four generations. They have a number of their own brands and still operate out of Milwaukee. Double Play Hobby Consignments offers their products in store and online.
