Matchbox was founded by Leslie Smith and Rodney Smith in England. The first models fit inside a matchbox, hence the name. However, over the years the cars have grown bigger. They’re considered to be S scale. Since they were an international company, they had a number of car models from all over the world. Their cars have a great attention to detail as well as smooth-moving parts. Matchbox’s newer diecast cars have features such as opening doors and hoods, as well as a number of others. They also offer lots of series that are geared specifically towards collectors.
