Athearn Trains was founded by Irvin Athearn over 60 years ago, and they have long since upheld their high level of detail, quality, and value in all their trains. They are now based in Long Beach, California. Athearn offers several brands under their own: Genesis, Ready to Roll®️, N Scale line, Precision Die Cast, Roundhouse, and McHenry.

They sell their model trains in a few different scales. Their Genesis line trains come with a soundboard and speakers, as do some of their other brands.
